"Carrera" is the original passenger charter sailboat in Monterey.
Sailing charters are aboard a fast, racer/cruiser custom 32' Capo sloop named "Carrera" (meaning "race" or "career" in Spanish) designed by Carl Schumacher, N. A. and built by the famous custom boat builder Westerly Marine in Southern California. In her first year she has won the Mini Ocean Racing Conference title. With her current skipper at the helm she has won the overall Monterey PHRF championship. In 1994, Carrera has entered the charter business. In 2002-2003, 2013 and 2018 she has undergone an extensive refit.
Carrera Sailing is concerned with passenger safety. That is why Carrera is powered by a diesel engine (as oppose to our competitors who have possibly explosive gasoline engines) and exceeds US Coast Guard requirements for six passenger vessel and is equipped with radar, Emergency Positioning Beacon (406 GPS-EPIRB), two Global Satellite Positioning systems, plenty of Type I commercial life vests, commercial grade Lifesling and VHF radio. No other charter sailboat in Monterey is as modern and well equipped!
